Henley On Thames

HENLEY-ON-THAMES

Henley is a world famous centre for rowing. Around the first week in June it hosts the Henley Royal Regatta – one of the highlights of the English social calendar. The town’s River & Rowing Museum covers international rowing in particular and the Thames in general. A separate section celebrates “Wind in the Willows” – a classic of children’s literature.

For a pleasant round trip, travel to Henley on the A4130, calling in at the pretty Thames side village of Hurley and return on the A4155 via the Thames side town of Marlow.
