KEW GARDENS

Official title: The Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew

Don’t miss this beautiful 300 acre UNESCO World Heritage Site that holds more than 1 in 8 of all known plant species. You need to set aside a whole day to enjoy the world’s most famous gardens, glasshouses and galleries. There are plenty of eating places within the gardens. If you get tired you can hop on and off the Kew Explorer – this takes 35 min to get round the gardens with eight stops en route.

Admission costs £13.00, but ask us for discount vouchers. Kew is easily reached by a 30 min car ride and there is free parking outside on the A307 from 10.00. Alternatively, take the train form Taplow to Ealing Broadway (25 min) followed by a 10 min ride on the frequent number 65 bus service. Click to visit Kew’s official website.

To complete your day out take a short stroll across the Thames at Kew Bridge to Strand on the Green, a picturesque riverside path lined with vintage houses and historic pubs – take time to enjoy a drink and a meal while soaking up the atmosphere.
